It is the mission of Fair Haven Children's Home to promote the growth and development of children whose lives have been disrupted and impeded by abuse, neglect and a lack of discipline. The type of growth and development Fair Haven hopes to foster is best described in Luke 2:52, where it says "and Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." The four areas of growth might be described as follows:

1. Wisdom
- The spiritual, intellectual, educational and emotional development of a
child to apply acquired knowledge to everyday situations of life.
2. Stature
- The physical growth and welfare of children, who have often suffered the
effects of neglect from early in life.
3. In favor with God
- The all-important spiritual development of a child. The ability
to make moral decisions, using God's word as the benchmark for distinguishing
wrong from right.
4. In favor with man
- Growing socially, developing approaches to life that look
beyond one's own welfare and consider the rights, needs and desires of others.

During their stay at Fair Haven we will strive to instill and nurture these aspects of growth in the minds and hearts of children in need. It is our desire that boys and girls served will grow into men and women who are able to understand not only what it takes to be successful as an individual but also be willing to give something back to others. And, that in doing so, they will be showing respect for God, their fellow man, and themselves.
